Are Smoothies Good For Weight Loss?

Smoothies are great as part of a weight loss diet because they make you feel like you’re not restricting yourself, which is important for losing weight.

The smoothies featured in this blog post are made with whole foods, low in calories and nutrient dense.

They contain important nutrients like protein that’ll help you boost your metabolism and keep you fuller longer, which contributes to weight loss.

Ultimately, don’t just rely on smoothies to help you burn fat. To drop body fat and keep it off make sure you’re eating fewer calories than you burn on an ongoing basis.

Can Smoothies Be Frozen?

Sure smoothies can be frozen. Freezing smoothies might seem like a great idea but I don’t think it’s necessary.

No one wants to drink a smoothie that has been frozen for hours. The purpose of a smoothie drink is to have a light refreshing drink as easily and quickly as you can.

Whether that’s first thing in the morning or before or after your workout.

Instead of freezing your smoothie, I think a better idea would be to freeze the smoothie ingredients.

By freezing the ingredients, you can easily and quickly pop them into your blender and have your smoothie ready and enjoyed cold and sweet!

4 Steps To freezing Your Weight Loss Smoothies

  1. Get your ingredients ready and washed. Wash and dry any solid foods like fruits or vegetables that you want to use in your smoothie.
  2. Then measure them according to how much you would want to drink in one serving. Think of this as a smoothie meal prep.
  3. Then divide your ingredients equally into separate freezer bags, ready to go into the bottom of the freezer.
  4. Pop each smoothie ingredients in it’s bag into the freezer and take out one bag of ingredients when you’re ready to make your smoothie.

And for the liquid ingredients, protein powders or yogurt, you can just add them into your smoothie to be blended directly.

Can Smoothies be left in the Fridge overnight?

I leave my smoothie in the fridge overnight all the time and you can too.

Sometimes I make my smoothie on the night before so I can enjoy them in the morning, usually as a pre-workout.

If you want to leave your smoothie overnight, just know it might change it’s colour just slightly. But it’ll be just as tasty and delicious. Enjoy!

What is the Best Time to Drink Smoothies?

You can drink smoothies any time of the day. But it completely depends on what you put in your smoothie.

If you make any of the high protein smoothie on this list and you put protein powder in it then you can drink your smoothie after your workout. Your workout can be in the morning, afternoon or late in the evening.

And if you prefer to have a high carbs smoothie like the green smoothie in this list, you can enjoy it in the morning before your workout. Healthy smoothies can be a great addition to your diet if you know how to make really good smoothies like the ones on this list.

Conclusion

Regardless of which weight loss smoothie recipes you pick from on the list above, just know that there are no fat burning smoothies.

There’s no one smoothie drink or any one food can help you lose weight but it can help boost your metabolism, burn more calories and improve your overall health.

And if you’re a smoothie lover like me, why not turn it up a notch and make this strawberry banana smoothie bowl or this strawberry and banana smoothie. They’re both tasty and fantastic food to add to your healthy diet.
